Humans (Homo sapiens) are highly intelligent primates that have become the dominant species on Earth. They are the only extant members of the subtribe Hominina and together with Chimpanzeesgorillas, and orangutans, they are part of the family Hominidae (the great apes, or hominids). Humans are terrestrial animals, characterized by their erect posture and bipedal locomotion; high manual dexterity and heavy tool use compared to other animals; open-ended and complex language use compared to other animal communications; larger, more complex brains than other primates; and highly advanced and organized societies.

In Universe[]

Humans constantly appear throughout the franchise, more often as the main threat and antagonist in numerous adaptations:.

Kimba the White Lion (Jungle Emperor)[]

Numerous episodes feature Human Beings as antagonists in their respected episodes, more often than not either destroying the environment or hunting down wildlife. Some Humans in the series though are shown to help the Animals in the jungle, such as Kenichi Ooyama or Egnotso Snobish. One of the main goals in the series is for the Animals to understand the Human language.

Leo the Lion (Onward, Leo)[]

Humans in this series are shown more ruthless and cruel than the previous series, some hunting down animals strictly for their own amusement and nothing else, and others killing their own kind for their own gain. Humans had been shown to be friendly towards Leo and his jungle, but these are much rarer to find due to the grimmer tone of the series.

The New Adventures of Kimba the White Lion (Jungle Emperor 1989)[]

Humans prominently appear throughout the franchise in numerous episodes, more varied in behavior. A tribe of Humans live within Leo's jungle in the form of the Skull Rock Tribe.

Jungle Emperor Leo (1997 film)[]

Similar to the 1966 series, a group of Humans made up of Dr. Plus, Mr. Pompous (Dr. Mustache), General Rommel, and a few others arrive with intent of retrieving the Moonlight Stones from Mount Moon. They also cure the animals of the Spot Disease.

Jungle Emperor Leo: Hon-o-ji[]

While not physically appearing throughout much of the short film, they do appear in form of Paola's owners. They appear at the very end of the special to reunite with Paola.

Jungle Emperor: The Brave Can Change the Future (2009)[]

Humans in this 2009 movie are much more advanced than previous adaptations - cloning animals and creating the Neo Jungle. In this adaptation humans had already destroyed the jungle and the Neo Jungle was created to rebuild it, potentially meaning that Humans will own everything on Earth in doing so.
