Kimba (Leo) discovers his rich ancestry by Roger Ranger (Kenichi) telling him the story of Androcles, the first white lion to be recognized by the Egyptian dynasty. This knowledge gives Kimba (Leo) strength to face Kitty's uncle, Specklerex, as his pride discriminated against Kimba (Leo) for being not a real/white lion.
This is the only episode in the entire series that is not restored fully. On every release (Japanese HD release, DVD, German Blu-ray), this episode always has a grainy film look and the colors are washed out. The reason is unknown. Although, fan speculation assumes that the original master is lost.
This episode was cameo'd in the FOX TV show "Fringe". The original 1960's English dubbed scene when Kimba is confronted by the spotted Lions can be seen on the television during episode 6 "Earthling".
