Keruru is a Barbary Lion cub who appeared in "The New Adventures of Kimba the White Lion (Jungle Emperor 1989)". He made his first appearance in the episode "Warning".
Personality[]
Keruru lived alongside his grandfather, Marody and his brother, Amuji on Marody's Cliff. At first the brothers often intimidated and tormented Leo whenever he is on Marody's cliff. They'd call into question why he is trespassing on their grandfather's territory, leading to Marody breaking up the arguments or fights that occur.
Unlike Amuji, Keruru remains envious of Leo throughout the majority of the series. Feeling that Leo was getting more praise and respect from his grandfather, than he was himself. Due to his pridefulness and always being ready to attack rather than come up with a plan, he led a number of barbary lions from Marody's pride to their demises in "Decision".
This caused him to self-exile himself from Marody's Cliff. Leo also had to rescue him numerous times from being slaughtered due to his lust for vengeance against the humans.
History[]
Keruru's parents are never mentioned, leading viewers to assume they were either captured or slaughtered. This would be quite plausible, as it's said that Barbary lions are often sought out by poachers.
Description[]
Keruru, alongside Amuji, tend to be the only Barbary lions with the charcoal/grey/black pelts with brown manes. All other barbary lions in the pride during the series are seen with dark pelts and cream manes. Just like his brother, he appears to be older then Leo, due to his more developed mane.
Trivia[]
- Prior to "Decision", the two brothers were often never seen apart.
- They seem to be somewhat older than Leo, as their manes are fuller and reach the back of their necks.
- Despite this, Keruru and Amuji have higher-pitched voices than Leo. The reason for this is unknown.
