In "The Case of the Moonlight Stones" Sterling Bond is sent out to Mount Moon to make sure secret agents don't try and steal the stones for their own malicious deeds. He describes the stones as very powerful, and since their discovery of how much power they hold, everyone's after them.
In "The Eternal Mount Moon" it is theorized that just a few of these moonlight stones exploding were enough to create the current state of the world billions of years ago, and a exploration team was sent out to find them for the effort of making the biggest accomplishment in science and for mankind's future.
In Jungle Emperor Leo (1997)[]
It was found by Viper Snakely (Ham Egg), who found it in the Jungle, where he found it at the river. He came to see Dr. Lemonade, where he lead an expedition to Mt. Moon. Dr. Plus came to the jungle to find the moonlight stone, Mr. Pompous (Dr. Mustache), and Kimba (Leo) led the expedition to Mt Moon where they find the The Mammoth (Great Mother) who leads them to near the top. They find the top, only for Ham Egg to slay Dr. Lemonade and steal some. Ham egg eats a Moonlight Stone, only to be poisoned to death.
