1965 English Dub Edits[]

  • Bero (Newton) has a monologue lengthened in the beginning about how unsafe his situation is for a little chameleon like him.
  • A short scene by a waterfall was cut. (A flying vulture is being wrapped and strangled by a snake). The spinning waterfall transition is still present. This scene would later be used for the Jungle Emperor (1966 Film) as Kimba (Leo)’s first look into the jungle.
  • Dialogue is added to the animal school scene (the AIUEO instrumental plays in the background).
  • Laiya incorrectly states that wolves are after her, yet Claw (Bubu) and Cassius (Toto) are shown on screen regardless.
  • After getting pressured to leave the jungle by Kimba (Leo), Bero (Newton) sulks in Kimba's den and wishes that he could be among friends who will accept him. When Gabu confronts him, Newton insists that he beat him up for what he did. In the original Japanese version, he even contemplates about committing suicide by having Gabu kill him because of his deep despair. This is most likely omitted from his dialogue due to censorship by NBC Enterprises, although the reason is unknown.
