The Mammoth, aka the Great Mother (お袋 "Ofukuro"), is a Woolly Mammoth who lives on Mt. Moon. She is seen in most versions of the Jungle Emperor story.

Personality[]
She is kind-hearted, sweet-tempered, and reasonable. She can fight when she has to and when her friends are in serious trouble. She appears to rescue Kimba (Leo) when he or his company is in danger at all times.
Appearances[]
Jungle Emperor (manga)[]
Ofukuro lives on the lower grounds of Mount Moon. When Ofukuro shows up on the jungle, very strange occurrences start to happen. Whenever she appears on the ground, the entire area begins to grow cold while snow falls. She first meets Leo when she manages to scare off the Jungula tribe because she was short on food near her home. Leo invites her to try some elephant grass back to his jungle. The two start to connect as distant, respected friends.
Later on when Leo tries to climb up Mount Moon with his human company, she saves the party from being attacked by dinosaurs and giant lizards. She helps Leo and company climb the flatter parts of Mount Moon until the path begins to be too steep for Ofukuro to climb any further.
Leo the Lion Cub (manga)[]
She appears in the chapter, "The Baby Dinosaurs". The mammoth has a very different personality than her other appearances. She is one of the obstacles that gets in the way as Leo tries to return the baby dinosaurs to where they belong. She gets woken up by Leo and wants to fight him for disturbing her rest.
Kimba the White Lion (Jungle Emperor)[]
She first appeared in episode 12, and only appears in one other episode (45).
Leo the Lion (Onward, Leo)[]
Ofukuro (known as "Pachyderma" in the English Dub) appears in two episodes. In episode 14, "The Saber-Toothed Tiger", she comes dawn the mountain to ask Leo for help in preserving her frozen relative. Leo climbs up the mountain to help as his son, Rune, comes along. When Rune becomes unsure of his surroundings, she is reassuring him to have faith in himself.
In the last episode, The Eternal Mount Moon, She helps Kimba (Leo), and human company fight the dinosaurs and climb Mount Moon, like in the manga. The only differences are that a few humans are missing from the party and Rune has decided to come along.
The New Adventures of Kimba the White Lion (Jungle Emperor 1989)[]
The Great Mother appeared on episode 13. Prophecy, where we predicted a large threat coming to the jungle, she later appeared in episode 35, in episode 51 and 52, where she fights alongside Leo, Coco, Tony, Kitty (Lyra), Keruru & Amaji, Marody, Kurosaji, Conga and her tribe, Pagoola, Bizo and their herd, and the other animals against the invaders from destroying their Jungle.
Jungle Emperor Leo (1997 film)[]
In the 1997 film, she appeared where there's not enough food growing on Mount Moon, she comes to take some food back, and she is proud to see everyone. She later appeared guiding Leo, Dr Lemonade, and Dr. Mustache to the Moonlight Stone.
