The Runaway (Japanese Title: Bela and his Award ( ベラと勲章)) is the 18th episode of Kimba the White Lion (Jungle Emperor).

Synopsis[]

Gargoyle G. Warthog shows up in the jungle and meets a small boar named Wild E. Boar, and take interest in each other. He thinks that is so ugly that he's sure that no one wants him around and so he ran away from his home. His mother comes to the jungle to find her lost son working at Kimba’s post office. When Kimba and the others find him, he runs off again because of the others who told him he was ugly, including Wild E.’s mother. The animals convince him that they are his friends and his mother loves him. He earns a metal for his courage and bravery by helping Kimba defeat the baboons.

Changes in the 1966 English dub[]

When the monkey father is spanking his child as Gargoyle is trying to help out, it is changed to the mother spanking her child.
Some scenes where Gargoyle G. Warthog fights the Baboons were cut. The fight was shortened because Gargoyle is beaten up by the baboons brutally.

Changes in the 1993 English Dub[]

Gargoyle G. Warthog now has his original Japanese name, Bellar.

Wild E. Boar‘s name is now Becky.

Buzura's voice replaced Wildey's mother's voice when Gargoyle and his mother return home.When Gargoyle gives some food to Becky, in the 1993 dub, it's not his own food.
