Monica Adventures (Turma da Mônica Jovem) is a Brazilian comic created in August 2008 by Mauricio de Sousa. The series features the characters from Monica's Gang as teenagers. In the issues where Kimba appears is in a 2-part story titled: Tesouro Verde or "Green Treasure". These particular chapters of the comic were released in 2012.
Collaboration[]
A crossover with characters by Osamu Tezuka such as Princess Sapphire, Astro Boy and Kimba. The project conceived in the late 1980s by the two authors, before Tezuka's death in 1989, was kept for 23 years and will now gain the pages of a special edition that will be published in our country by Panini Comics in February. However, a preview of the magazine "Turma da Mônica Jovem", issue 43, can be seen from January 26 on newsstands. Based on the manga style, in the story with black and white illustrations, Mônica, Magali, Cascão and Cebola will face loggers and fight biopiracy in the Amazon with the help of Astro Boy, Kimba and Princess Sapphire. In addition to this comic book version, soon the plot may also turn into animation with a co-production between Japan and Brazil.

- Kimba (Leo's) background is changed from the original story. Kimba is born in Africa with both of his parents being alive. Then, hunters/loggers come into the jungle and kill Caesar (Panja). Snowene (Eliza) and Kimba (Leo) are then up on a ship to be sailed somewhere. The story plays out the same way from here on out: Eliza tells Leo to jump off the ship instead of confined to a human cage as a terrible storm hits and sinks the ship. Instead of arriving on the Arabian peninsula, he arrives on the shore of the Amazon Rainforest. As humans have invaded the forest as well. Leo helps to other animals scare them off.
