Information[]
Turtles are omnivorous animals, their diet depending on where they live. They are adapted for aquatic life. All turtles lay eggs. They dig nests for their young in the ground and lay their eggs before leaving. Tortoises are closely related to turtles, though they are terrestrials that prefer to live in open grassland habitats where they can forage on plants. The shells of the adults make it impossible to be predated, but the juveniles are more vulnerable. Tortoises only dig when they have to lay their eggs or to gain moisture when they live in arid regions.
